Exhibition, Type Design
I was invited by Maia Kjendle to take part in her 'Base 10' exhibition that started in Melbourne at the Backwoods Gallery as part of the ongoing Melbourne Design Week.
My interpretation of the number 7 is visually juxtaposing destruction and creation through my design process, that was inspired by floral vegetation, abundant and beautiful landscapes. I created forms based on trees, bushes and flowers, and then alienated, digitized, and modified them.
BASE10 is a designer-led project that proposes an alternative attitude to numerical systems through material sensibilities. Twenty typographers from around the world were invited to design one number each out of the range of 0–10.
